A job app for an air-conditioning service company with 40 technicians across the city: jobs assigned by area, parts and photos logged on site, and the customer paying before the technician leaves.

Thebrief

Summer is the whole year for an AC service company. Jobs come in by phone, are handed out on a group chat, and are chased by calling technicians who are up a ladder.

The concept is one app for the office and one for the road: the office sees where every technician is and what they are doing, and the technician sees only their next job.

How we ran it

Each step was owned by one discipline, and every one of them worked from the same plan in the same team.

Two apps, one codebase
An iOS and Android app for technicians and a web dashboard for the office, from one codebase. The technician’s app works offline in a basement plant room and syncs when it can.

Jobs sent to the nearest free hands
New jobs suggested to the technician who is nearest, free and carrying the right parts, which the office can accept or override.
